The impressive casting performance of the SLX BFS is powered by Shimano’s FTB system, where magnets in the side plate (towards the handle side) provide adjustable drag force directly on the spool. By adjusting the drag dial, the magnets are moved closer (for increased drag) or further apart, eliminating moving parts in the spool and allowing for incredibly smooth, friction-free rotation. Performance is further enhanced by the S3D spool design and Super Free Spool technology. Housed in a lightweight aluminium HAGANE Body chassis, precision-engineered gears, ball bearings and X-SHIP provide powerful and responsive reeling. In addition, Cross Carbon Drag and Exciting Drag Sound provide improved control and a satisfying feel when trolling strong fish.
